Wine
Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay is a single vineyard wine made with fruit from the steeply sloping estate vineyard at Hoddles Creek in the Upper Yarra Valley.
The grapes are picked in the early morning, destemmed and lightly crushed. The juice is allowed to settle naturally. Fermentation starts on full solids before a portion is inoculated with cultured yeast.
The wine matures in French oak sur lie (on lees) for 11 months. Just before bottling the wine is blended, cold stabilized, fined and filtered.
Pale straw, Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay has crisp citrus and stone fruit flavours, a rounded palate and a long, dry finish. Cellaring potential is six years.
